Bio

One listen and you are hooked--part velvet, part grit, Melissa's voice has a quality to it that penetrates. A versatile songwriter, pianist and guitarist, Melissa has released three albums, including The Other Side (2008), Just Like That (2010) and To Memi Lou (2013).

In 2019, she released five new singles, streaming now on Spotify and other platforms worldwide. Featured musicians on her latest tracks include drummer Jimmy Paxson (Ben Harper, Dixie Chicks), bassist Jonathan Flaugher (The Weepies), and Will Gramling (Colbie Caillat). Talented Australian artists Jordie Lane & Clare Reynolds add gorgeous production, guitars, and harmonies, with mixing by Jordan Lehning in Nashville (Willie Nelson, Kacey Musgraves).

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i, Melissa graduated from Stanford University then began performing and songwriting professionally. In 2011, she was cast as one of 12 talented songwriters for Bravo TV's show "Platinum Hit," hosted by Jewel and Kara DioGuardi. Audiences received an inside look at the songwriting process, with star guest judges Donna Summer, Leona Lewis, Natasha Bedingfield, Ryan Tedder and Rodney Jerkins sitting in.

Melissa has toured nationally, showcased at SXSW, and been featured on tastemaker radio stations like San Francisco's KFOG 104.5 FM. She is currently writing and recording for her next project.
